課程概述 |
• This course is an introduction to academic writing tailored for students within the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures. The course emphasizes the development of proficiency in various rhetorical modes and culminates with students composing 1000-word short essays on a multitude of subjects. Additionally, the course will examine non-academic writing forms, such as journalistic and scriptwriting, towards the semester's end.
• The course operates on a workshop model, engaging students in the analysis of other authors' works, both individually and in group settings.
• Consistent attendance is vital for active participation and to fully benefit from the collaborative discussions integral to the learning process. |
課程目標 |
Upon semester completion, students should be able to:
• Demonstrate proficiency across stages of the writing process, including drafting, revising, editing, and crafting.
• Employ various rhetorical strategies effectively in writing.
• Utilize critical thinking to evaluate peers' writings and provide constructive feedback.
• Engage with diverse research sources and methodologies, enhancing their writing through activities like reading, critical analysis, and participation in class discussions. |
